Thank you for doing all the hard work in order to come up with such an important article. I am an environmental science teacher and I have been following your articles for the last couple of months. They have been useful to me and my students. Please continue doing this. Have contributed to the climate crisis reporting fund as well.

It's scary to see the data and understand the direction of how things are going to be. But people for the most part are oblivious trying to earn a days food to trying to finding the best filter to use on social media. I am pretty sure that we will be able to blame things on capitalism for being the monster it really is. It has been eating away since the industrial revolution and is giving everyone the idea that it is the comfort of the humans that is paramount. Marx had told before that the only thing that capitalism has to spend money on is advertising and everything it makes would be profit. Look at the capitalist moghuls of our time getting richer and richer through the pandemic while common people are losing jobs left and right. But unfortunately for us as a species, the agenda is set by the rich and the politically empowered class. The are common people who tell they need an air conditioner if it's getting hotter and this response is the most common and the most worrying. Unless the capitalist system is taken down and we as a species step down from the pedestal and begin to see all the things out there together, we will die off on this planet- the amazing beings we think we are. Unfortunately, the system is still capitalistic and everyone just wanted to grind out every day for a better tomorrow not even knowing if everything they possess will be swept away by the sea, washed away in floods or burned down in wildfires. It's scary to see how much social media has helped empower people all the while cranking out the reach of the capitalist machines as shown in the "social dilemma". This can only end peacefully when the political pawns and the uber rich have personal losses because of climate change. Unfortunately it might not be before countless commoners suffer and lose and die away- till all that's left are the politicians and the rich. Holocene selection
