www.wdcpower.com has the answer to power production problem which solves no resource consuming after setup non polluting low cost low maintenance. BUT political and industrialist threaten to stop its deployment. We must band together and help John Rosebush get this to the UN as protections are needed to safeguard for the people.

This is amazing. I too had this in mind as to why is the government not responsible for their own actions ? So much of the tax money is being wasted in the name of development. So many lives are being swept away for electricity that is not even available to the state !

Thanks for putting together this excellent explainer Neelima! The Chamoli incident somewhat reminded me of the mega tsunamis triggered by landslides in the narrow Alaskan fiords. One was reported to be as high as 193m! So maybe the mass and impact of the landslide debris alone might explain the huge amounts of water that got displaced.

Right, according to one report I read, the debris-laden flood in Chamoli was as high as 125m at one place it seems. That's an extraordinary amount of force and destruction.

Kudos to a job well done on analysing what exactly happened and what lies ahead. It is the perfect recipe for disaster and there hardly seems to be any cognizance taken of it. Sad state of affairs.

It is, and I wish both the public and the government would take this matter seriously instead of forgetting it instantly after the incident like a goldfish.
